Campaign continues for more connectivity

Bhopal: Continuing their ongoing demand, flyers running online campaign Support Bhopal for Air connectivity (SBFAC) will organise a walk in the city on February 3. Flyers are now demanding air connectivity from Bhopal to Pune, Kolkata, Chennai and Lucknow.

Campaign head Prachi Baluapuri said the walk will start at 9.30 am. “The walk will start from Prakash swimming pool, Link Road No. 1 and will end at the same point after enroute to Nanke petrol pump, Rose Garden,” said Baluapuri.

She said the campaign only meant for people, who believe that Bhopal as a capital deserves air-connectivity. “It is meant for people who are ready to constructively engage in a positive discussion for the same. We have over 65,000 members, which is enough to prove citizens’ demands are genuine,” Baluapuri said.

During the walk, flyers will also create awareness to fly from Bhopal, show solidarity for cause and express gratitude to authorities, airlines and the government for recent flights. “Bhopal is now connected to important cities. Still, there are other cities, which need to be connected as geographically Bhopal is at the centre of the country,” Baluapuri said.
Asked about logic to organise the walk, group members said it was a way to raise our demand for chief minister Kamal Nath. “Demanding more air connectivity to cities like Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow and international connection was conveyed to the chief minister when IndiGo launched its operation. We want to tell the society that air connectivity is extremely important for Bhopal and the state government should help,” said campaign group member Raj Sarkar.
