Dagadarthi airport will be ready in 14 months

Nellore: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday laid foundation stone for Greenfield Airport at Dagadarthi, which is a game changer for development of the district. He also said that the region would develop with improved infrastructure facilities.
With the coming up of Ramayapatnam Port and also Nellore International airport, exports and imports will increase creating employment to youth, Naidu said.
‘We have fixed a target for completing the construction of the airport. It would be completed within 12 to 14 months. We have also asked the district administration to hand over land to Airport authorities within one month. Industrialists and others would be benefitted with the air cargo services coming up at the Airport,’ said the Chief Minister.
Krishnapatnam Port in the region is one of the fastest growing ports in the country with huge exports and imports, he added. Chandrababu Naidu explained that Nellore-Tirupati-Chennai triangular industrial corridor would witness rapid development with the presence of many industries in the region.
Meanwhile, taking part in Janmabhoomi-Maavooru programme at Bogole in Nellore district, Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the State government would soon deposit Rs 8,000 crore into the farmers’ accounts towards loan waiver in the 4th and 5th installments.
