Fog in Delhi affects Raipur flights

Raipur: Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport was also no exception to the national aviation condition as its flights got severely hampered which was the cascading effect of inclement weather in several parts of Delhi on Friday morning.

The dense fog that had enveloped the national capital led to cancellation of one flight and delay in the arrival three flights here at Raipur Airport. The unforeseeable weather shift which cast its shadow on the flight operations gave harrowing moments to several frequent air flyers.

“It was national weather phenomena which affected the air operations pan India on Friday. All flights to and from Delhi either departed or arrived beyond their scheduled time due to dense fog that virtually crippled all the air operations and Swami Vivekananda Airport was too played victim at the hands of nature,” Raipur Airport Director Rakesh R Sahay told
The Hitavada.

Sahay informed that the only flight cancelled for the day was Indigo (6E 2201/2204) Delhi-Raipur. The flight’s whose Schedule Time of Arrival (STA) read 1415 hours and Schedule Time of Departure (STD) 1450 hours, was eventually cancelled since most of the departures were largely put on hold at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi, he added.
