Four deboarded from Jet Airways flight for misbehaviour

Patna: Four members of a family were deboarded from a Jet Airways flight at Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport, Patna on Wednesday after they misbehaved with the crew members. Though one of the four later sent an apology letter to Jet Airways station manager at Patna airport, the airline lodged an initial complaint with the Central Industrial Security Force, which looks after the security of the airport.
The incident took place when passengers were boarding Jet Airways’ Patna-Delhi flight (9W 728) around 1pm on Wednesday. Airport sources said one Sunil Kumar Sinha, who was travelling with his wife and two sons, entered into a scuffle with the flight crew over upgradation of their seats.

In his apology letter, Sinha stated that while his three tickets were upgraded to business class after appraisal, one ticket was for the economy class only. He said even though only one ticket was of economy class, all four of them sat in the business class.

Sinha further stated in his apology letter that even though the cabin crew politely asked one of them to shift to economy class, he resisted and verbally abused them.

“I told the cabin crew that if all four of us are not allowed to sit in the business class, the flight will not fly and I will damage the aircraft,” Sinha wrote in the letter.

Airport officials said the nuisance created by Sinha delayed the flight by around an hour and it finally took off at 2.30pm. According to airport sources, Sinha is associated with one of the ground handling firms at Patna airport and had committed similar issues earlier as well
