With the addition of these stands, spread over 65,000 square meters, the airport now has 83 parking stands, up from the earlier 57 (47 remote and 10 aerobridges), a release said.
The stands, which took about 10 months to complete, can hold 22 scheduled Code C aircraft and four Code B aircraft catering to general aviation or business jets, it said.
“With the phenomenal growth in passenger and cargo throughput, as well as aircraft movements, and the resulting fleet expansions there is a rising demand for aircraft parking stands by airlines.
Our expansion plan has proactively accommodated all these conditions to ensure enhanced service quality and faster turnaround times,” S G K Kishore, CEO of GMR Hyderabad Airports Ltd. (GHIAL), said.
