IndiGo to kick off cheap direct international flights to Istanbul

New Delhi: If visiting Istanbul was on your bucket list, IndiGo might have just made it easier to tick that off. One of India's most pocket friendly airlines, IndiGo will soon be launching direct flights to Turkey. IndiGo will start daily flights between India and Istanbul by March-end or April, say various reports.

This has become possible with IndiGo recently acquiring Airbus A321 new engine option (NEO) aircrafts. These are bigger than the A320s and can fly up to 7,400 km.

The only other comparatively cheaper airline operating flights to Istanbul from India is Air Arabia, through Sharjah. This comes as a sigh of relief for Indians, given that they can now travel to Turkey without a layover.
Istanbul, home to the world's largest airport - Istanbul New Airport - now, is expected to see a lot of flights from all corners of the world descending on the city.
