Coimbatore: Fare aggregators Red Taxi and Ola Cabs have set up kiosks to book taxi at the city airport.
The kiosks, in front of the arrival terminal, allow passengers to get a cab instantly. “The kiosks have five to six cabs on standby. So passengers get cabs within minutes,” said an airport official. “We also got reports that they are cheaper than the prepaid taxis.”
The kiosks are expected to be a boon for those people, who land from abroad and do not have a working SIM card with internet. “Booking these fare aggregators becomes a problem for such people,” the official said.
With this, passengers can just walk up to the kiosks and book a prepaid cab on the spot. They can even choose to pay once they reach their destination.
