Pilot's arrest delays flight at Jaipur

A Mumbai-bound flight of a private airlines got delayed by almost an hour at the Sanganer International Airport after its pilot was arrested by police barely minutes before the scheduled take-off. The arrest was made by sleuths of Bangalore police at the airport on Wednesday morning, sources said.

Sources informed that Jaipur-Mumbai Indigo flight 6E 965, which was to depart at 9:30 am, was delayed after its pilot Yudishtir Poonia was arrested by Bangalore police. Officials in know of the matter said that a team comprising Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar and head constable Satish from HAL police station in Bangalore had come to Jaipur on Wednesday morning. Poonia reportedly belongs to Jaipur and a compliant was registered against him at HAL police station. "The cops were executing a warrant against the pilot and have taken him to Bangalore," an official said.

According to sources, the airlines was forced to make a change in the team after Poonia's arrest. This led to the delay. However, airline officials present at the airport refused to confirm any such incident and of the flight getting delayed because of the arrest.
The flight took off at around 10:15 am and landed at Mumbai airport at 12:24 pm, while the regular time of its arrival at Mumbai was 11:25 am.
