SpiceJet begins operation with flight to Shirdi

Bhopal: A day after IndiGo started operations, SpiceJet launched full-fledged operations from Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj airport on Sunday. SpiceJet that has already connected five cities with Bhopal, is all set to start operations to Ahmedabad from Monday.
Airlines including Air India, Jet Airways, IndiGo and SpiceJet have operations from Bhopal. Last year, SpiceJet had announced Bhopal as its 50th domestic destination with the introduction of direct flights connecting Bhopal with Jaipur, Ahemdabad, Hyderabad, Shirdi and Bengaluru via Shirdi. Earlier, Bhopal had direct flights only to Delhi and Mumbai.

SpiceJet manager Arvind told TOI that Bhopal-Ahmedabad flight will take off at 3pm on Monday. “Today, our operations from Bhopal started with the Bhopal-Hyderabad flight at 6.30am,” said Arvind.
On Sunday, Member of Parliament Alok Sanjar flagged-off the flight to Shirdi. “We hope that more airlines will start operations from Bhopal,” said Sanjar. MLA Rameshwar Sharma was also present.
While Bhopal-Hyderabad and Bhopal-Jaipur flight will operate on all seven days of a week, flights connecting Ahmedabad will skip Sundays, manager Arvind said. Bhopal-Shirdi flight will operate daily except Tuesday. Bhopal-Bengaluru flight is enroute Shirdi.
