Taking a Domestic Flight From The Mumbai International Airport Has Never Been Easier

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport ( also known as T2) in Mumbai has become the first in the country to introduce the latest technology – that will change the travel game – proposed by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. They have introduced Digi-Yatra, a technology-driven initiative that eliminates ‘boarding pass stamping’ for all domestic airlines operating out of the terminal. Can you imagine what that must be like? Literally, just check in and zip through!

If you’re travelling within the country from this airport, all you need to do is authenticate your boarding pass at the pre-embarkation security check point by scanning the boarding pass barcode or QR code on your mobile phones at the E-gate Reader.

This authentication of boarding pass will eliminate the responsibility of CISF checking personnel to stamp the boarding pass, thus saving time and bringing a harmonious experience to the travellers. Not only that, the development will also improve the overall security-check procedure.

T2 describes the initiative as a step towards adopting new technology and digitising the travel experience, making it hassle-free for the traveller. The feature introduced aims at reducing time involved in completing the many pre-flight boarding checks; one of the many boons of a forward-looking technology-driven service. In fact, it’s evident at the airport now with the drastically reduced waiting time in queues at various touch points.
