Bengaluru: Over 100 flights will be affected with the runway at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) remaining closed for some hours during Aero India and the days leading to it.
The air show will held from February 20 to 24.

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) authorities said flights operated by several carriers to and from Bengaluru have been cancelled owing to air space closure. Some flights operated by AirAsia India, departing to and from Bengaluru between February 14 and February 24, have been cancelled.

The runway will be closed from 1.30pm to 4.30pm between February 14 and 17 for aircraft practice sessions. On February 18, 19, 21, 22, 23 and 24, it will be closed from 10am to noon and from 2pm to 5pm. On February 20, when the air show will be inaugurated, the airport will be closed from 9am to noon and from 2pm to 5pm.

“With the partial closure of KIA due to Aero India, 11 of our flights have been withdrawn and 10 rescheduled from February 14 to 24. Customers booked on any of the affected flights are being refunded or accommodated on other flights,” said a Vistara Spokesperson.

Departures and arrivals of several flights have been delayed. Air India’s daily 9.55am flight from Hyderabad to Bengaluru has been rescheduled to depart at 11.40am between February 18 and February 24.
