Email trail shows UPA aviation minister Praful Patel's office bestowed favours on lobbyist Deepak Talwar

New Delhi: Former United Progressive Alliance (UPA) aviation minister Praful Patel's aides arranged accommodation for alleged lobbyist Deepak Talwar in a super luxury hotel- email communications accessed by Times Now channel have revealed. The emails, copies of which have been flashed on Times Now, prove that Patel's aides had arranged accommodation for Talwar in a super luxury hotel. Talwar is currently being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with cases involving corporate lobbying. Last week, Talwar was extradited to India in a case involving alleged routing and misuse of Rs 90 crore.

Correspondence accessed by Times Now channel shows that lobbyist Talwar had sought time to meet Patel and was granted the same for meeting the then aviation minister Patel. Emails further indicate that the lobbyist's access to the then UPA minister could raise serious concerns regarding a conflict of interest. "Sir, Received a call from Mr Prabhakar, Secy to Mr Anand Jain regarding the meeting with Mr Praful Patel on 29th - wanted to know about the venue and the time of the meeting," says one of the emails addressed to Talwar.
