Kochi: A Jakarta-bound Emirates flight from Dubai made an emergency landing at Cochin International Airport Ltd (Cial) on Saturday morning to save a passenger onboard who suffered uneasiness.
Though the passenger was rushed to Angamaly Little Flower Hospital, he was declared brought dead.
According to airport sources, the 52-year-old Indonesian national, H S Widodu, suffered severe chest pain mid-air, following which the pilot requested emergency landing at Cial as it was the nearest airport. Authorities had made arrangements for emergency landing and medical backup. Nedumbassery police said that the body has been kept in the mortuary after autopsy.
