Indore: The upcoming summer will see direct flights to Kochi, Rajkot and Jodhpur from the city. Besides, Vistara Airline will launch four flights on Indore-New Delhi sector. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) releases two flights schedule – summer and winter – every year.

Summer schedule starts from March 25 and ends on October 26 while winter schedule begins from October 27 and ends on March 24. Last summer schedule proved to be a mile stone as Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport allowed 24X7 flight operation from March 25. Number of flight operations doubled from 44 flights to 100.

Aryama Sanyal, airport director, said IndiGo will start flight from city to Kochi, Rajkot and Jodhpur. Though city has direct flights for Ahmadabad and Jaipur, Kochhi is new destination. The flight for Kochi will have another benefit. Kochi has international airport. As a result, local passengers can board international flights from there.

Flights rescheduled Owing to closure of runway at Mumbai airport from Thursday to March 30, operation of flights has been rescheduled. The flight operation on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday will be closed between 11 am to 5 pm. IndiGo flight number 6E-3904 will be affected. It will be operated between Ahmadabad and Indore on those three days. Jet Airway flight 395/396 will also be affected. It will operate on these three days on Mumbai-Bhopal-Indore-Mumbai route.
