Narita: A Japan Airlines plane from India ran off an icy taxiway after landing at Narita International Airport on Feb. 1, but no injuries were reported among the 201 passengers and crew.
JAL Flight 740 from New Dehli touched down at 6:53 a.m., but its main left landing gear got caught in the snow-covered grass off the tarmac during taxiing, according to Narita International Airport Corp. and JAL.
Runway A has been closed as workers try to move the Boeing 787-9 with an aircraft tow tractor and other means. The passengers and crew exited the airliner around 9:30 a.m., and the runway is expected to be reopened in the afternoon.
Snow was cleared from the taxiway in the morning, but its surface remained frozen, according to the captain of Flight 740.
