Jet Airways cancels 123 flights due to Mumbai airport runway shutdown; your ticket price to skyrocket

Jet Airways passengers are in distress in Mumbai, as the airline has just cancelled about 123 flights arriving at and departing from this megalopolis. The reason is due to Mumbai airport runway shutdown between February 07 to March 31, 2019. The Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Terminus (CSIA) has announced that it will shut runways for repair and maintenance from 1100 hours  to 1700 hours.  However, that will not be every day. Actually, the runway will be shut for six hours and that too every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jet Airways has already cancelled 14 international flights and a whopping 109 flights travelling within India for this period. Jet Airways via its Twitter account said, "Due to planned maintenance activities, the runway at Mumbai airport will be closed from Feb 7, 2019 until Mar 30, 2019 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1100 hrs to 1700 hrs. At Jet Airways, guests who are planning to travel via Mumbai, are advised to allow for sufficient time while making bookings for onward travel. In the meanwhile, the airline has revised flight schedules for some flights arriving and departing from Mumbai and even cancelled a few.
On domestic route, the most flights that are cancelled are for passengers travelling to Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Indore, Kochi, Bengaluru, Goa, Chandigarh, Chennai, Aurangabad, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur,Thiruvananthapuram, Visakhapatnam, Bhuj and Bagdogra among others.

Many flights to Mumbai too have cancelled from cities like Goa, Delhi, Aurangabad, Dehradun, Nagpur, Jaipur, Bagdogra, Visakhapatnam, Bhuj, Kolkata, Vadodara, Bengaluru, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Kochi, Delhi and Patna among others.

In case of international flights, passengers travelling to Kuwait, Singapore, Dubai and Doha have had their flights cancelled.
