Jet flight aborts takeoff in Raipur to get fliers' passports

A Jet Airways flight to Mumbai aborted takeoff while on the taxiway at Raipur airport as three passengers had left behind their passports at the airport.

The three passengers were headed to Mumbai, from where they were to fly in a connecting flight to London the same afternoon.

A Jet Airways source said the flight 9W-378 had a few seconds to take off when the crew was informed about the passports forgotten at the airport's security check area.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, resulting in 8.55 am flight being delayed by 20 minutes.

The source said the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) had to be convinced to hand over the passports lying at the security check area.

"The ground staff informed the boarding. Both convinced the CISF on duty to hand over the passports to them so they could be handed over to the guests onboard. The CISF agreed and gave them the passports at the ladder point at ramp," the source said.

The passengers in question, identified as Kanhu Pattnayak, Sambidha Pattnayak and Lipsa Nayak, were headed to London over some medical treatment, said their co-passenger Shreyansh Chopra.
