New apron to boost early morning flights

Jaipur: Here is good news for air travellers who want cheaper early morning flights to New Delhi and other important destinations. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is planning a new apron that would provide night parking facility to 32 aircraft at a time, enabling them to fly early morning the next day.

The facility for 32 aircraft will decongest the crowded Delhi airport. The foundation stone for the apron will be laid on Friday, and the facility is likely to be completed by June this year.

According to Airports Authority of India (AAI), Jaipur, the minister of states for aviation Jayant Sinha will lay the foundation stone for the apron.

“This will provide night parking facility to at least 32 aircraft at a time and will enable early departure of flights to various destinations. As the Delhi airport is already congested, we will earn extra revenue. It will also open more avenues for air travellers,” said Jaideep Singh Balhara, director, AAI, Jaipur, speaking to TOI.
