Udan 3: Belagavi flights to 13 cities will take off next week

Bengaluru: Air carriers Spicejet, Alliance Air and Star Air will begin operations from the Belagavi airport from February 25, announced Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi in a tweet on Thursday.
“Spicejet, Alliance air and StarAir will start operations from 25th February from Belagavi airport. I request @MyNWKRTC MD to arrange exclusive city buses for departure and arrival time to facilitate the citizens with easy movement. An official letter will also be sent to MD,” Angadi tweeted.
While SpiceJet will operate daily non-stop flights between Belagavi and Hyderabad, Alliance Air will operate on the Belagavi-Pune route and Bengaluru-based Star Air on the Belagavi-Bengaluru route.
Under the Centre’s regional connectivity scheme, Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (Udan) 3, 13 routes have been approved for the Belagavi airport. These include Mysuru, Hyderabad, Tirupati, Kadapa, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur and Jodhpur. A majority of these routes have been bagged by the city-based Star Air.
While Star Air will operate flights to Tirupati, Mumbai, Indore, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Nashik and Nagpur, Alliance Air will operate flights to Pune and Surat, TruJet operated by the Turbo Megha Airways Group will run flights to Mysuru, Hyderabad, Tirupati and Kadapa. SpiceJet and Indigo will also operate flights to Hyderabad.
