Bareilly: A team of Jet Airways reached here at Nath Nagari civil enclave terminal on Thursday to take stock of preparedness of the flight operation from here. They expressed satisfaction and said that the launch date for the Bareilly-Delhi flight would be announced soon by their senior officials.
The team also met the additional district magistrate (city) and airport director SK Singh. While speaking with media, Sameer, a Jet Airways official, said that 70-seater commercial aircraft would soon start flight on Lucknow-Bareilly-Delhi route.
ADM Mahendra Kumar said that a four-member team of Jet Airways had arrived here to visit airport and check feasibility of flight commencement. “A final decision on this would be announced by senior Jet officials in a day or so,” Kumar said.
Sameer said, “We examines the porta-cabin as well as the apron, where the plane will be parked after landing. We are fully satisfied with the preparedness of the officials of the Airport Authority of India. We hope that flights will start in the first week of March; however, the date will be announced by our senior officials.”
Earlier this month, Union minister Santosh Gangwar had announced that the airport would become operational from February 28 after installation of porta-cabin.
