Kochi: Summer schedule 2019 of Cochin International Airport Ltd (Cial) that will begin on Sunday focuses on enhancing domestic connectivity. Overall weekly air traffic in the domestic sector at Cial has been increased to 1,054 compared to 914 of winter schedule 2018.
The schedule also envisages better intrastate connectivity by starting three daily flights to Kannur. New services to Mysuru and Indore are also enlisted in the summer schedule. The new schedule will be in effect till October 26, 2019.
IndiGo will commence service to Kannur from Sunday with two daily departures at 11.35am and 9.05pm. Both these flights will be coming from Thiruvananthapuram.
GoAir will be operating a new service to Kannur from Hyderabad via Kochi. Another new destination is Mysuru, announced by Allianz Air. It is yet to receive approval from directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA).
