Flyers on the edge, queries on Boeing 737 Max pour in

Lucknow: Number of queries over the cancellation of flights have increased drastically after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced ban on operation of Boeing 737 Max aircraft in the country following the recent Ethiopian airline crash.

Though no airline is using Boeing 737 Max in Lucknow, passengers are anxious to know about the status of their connecting flights.

Daily about 40-50 calls are being taken by various tour operators in the city, with people wanting to know if their reserved tickets are of Boeing 737 Max and whether the flight will be operated or cancelled. Raji Hasan, a tour operator running his business near Tulsi cinema said, “I am daily receiving more than 30 calls with people anxious to know about their aircraft’s make. Majority of passengers doesn’t know whether their aircraft is Boeing or Airbus. I frequently book tickets for IndiGo or Air India, and they do not operate the said Boeing aircraft.”
