Harrowing time for commuters of Patna

Patna: Commuters had a harrowing time as cabs, autorickshaws and buses were off the roads for several hours due to the NDA rally.

Shashi Saket, who landed at Patna airport from Pune at around 10.30am, waited there for more than half-an-hour before hiring a vehicle for Patna Junction. Saket said he failed to book car through mobile applications due to non-availability.

“Flyers were being charged exorbitant fare by taxis, three-wheelers and cabs. I hired an e-rickshaw to reach Patna Junction,” Saket, who missed a train, said.

Seema Singh, a resident of Lohanipur, also found it difficult to reach Dak Bungalow. “I managed to get an e-rickshaw after much effort,” the woman, who was with her minor daughter, said.

Jitendra Kumar, who had gone to Khetan Market with his wife on a two-wheeler, was forced to take a long route on way back home.

Most people preferred to remain indoors due to the rally.
