Kitco to set up new terminal building at Imphal airport

Thiruvananthapuram: Kitco Ltd, the premier public sector technical consultancy organisation, has secured the project management consultancy (PMC) contract from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for setting up a ₹600-crore integrated terminal building at Imphal International Airport in Manipur.

The new terminal building and ancilliary facilities are for developing Imphal Airport, managed by the AAI. It is being developed as an Intra-Regional Hub with facility for round-the-clock operations. Once the project is commissioned, the airport will be suitable for landing of ‘C’ type aircrafts like A-320 and A-321 in all weather conditions.

The PMC, bagged by Kitco through competitive bidding, aims at concept-to-commissioning basis construction of a new integrated terminal building conforming to GRIHA 4 Star Rating, control-cum-technical block, apron link and taxiway, construction of new control tower, parking bays for A-321, B-737-800 and Q 400 type of aircraft, two taxiways, car park, and perimeter roads.

Kitco has made considerable progress in the preliminary work at the airport including site surveys, soil investigation, concept presentation, and stake holder consultation.
