On Women's Day, Air India, Jet Airways and SpiceJet to operate all-women crew flights

Indian air passenger carriers including Air India, Jet Airways and SpiceJet will operate all-women crew flights on International Women`s Day on Friday. The national passenger carrier Air India will operate 12 all-women crew flights on its medium and long-haul international routes and over 40 return domestic and short-haul flights all over India.

Jet Airways also plans to operate four domestic flights with all-women cockpit and cabin crew members.

"These planned domestic flights 9W 346, 9W 355 (Mumbai-Delhi); 9W 358 (Delhi-Mumbai) and 9W 481 (Mumbai-Bengaluru) will be further managed exclusively by all-women teams from a cross-section of the business, including engineering, ground handling, ground services, security and cabin appearance supervisors," Jet Airways said in a statement.

Budget passenger carrier SpiceJet will operate 22 such flights.

"Women travellers flying alone will be offered `priority check in` and `priority boarding` besides a welcome rose on boarding," SpiceJet said.

"Depending on availability, they will be offered an upgrade to a SpiceMax seat as well. While on-board, all women travellers will be offered a complimentary hot beverage and cookies."

In addition, GoAir under the "#SmartWoman" campaign will give complimentary upgrade to all women travellers who fly on March 8 to GoBusiness across its network on "availability as well as first-come-first serve basis".
