IndiGo announces 20 domestic, three international flights from Mumbai

Budget carrier IndiGo is introducing 20 additional domestic flights each from Mumbai and New Delhi from April 15, the airline said on Monday. The decision comes due to the rush in summer traffic and hence the new departures will be temporary, the airline added.

"This is an effort to make it easier for customers to find affordable fares during the busy season," IndiGo said in a statement. "The new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options."

Until the end of March, IndiGo had cut down 30 flights citing that it was "adjusting" some flight operations to deal with expected weather-related disruptions in the coming days.

At present, IndiGo, with its fleet of over 200 aircraft, offers over 1,300 daily flights and connects 52 domestic and 16 international destinations.

Additionally, to enhance connectivity to and from Mumbai, the airline has also announced three new international flights — Mumbai-Jeddah, Mumbai- Abu Dhabi and Mumbai-Dammam. Jeddah and Dammam are its 17th and 18th international destinations.

While the daily non-stop flights from Mumbai to both Jeddah and Abu Dhabi will begin from June 5, the Mumbai-Dammam operation will commence from July 5.
