New SpiceJet flight evokes good response

Patna: Different domestic airlines are now operating 37 flights each to and from the Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport every day.
As per the summer schedule issued by the Patna airport on Monday, IndiGo will operate the maximum number of flights (16) from Patna, followed by GoAir (10), SpiceJet (7), Air India (3) and Jet Airways (1).

Santosh Kumar, assistant general manager (air traffic management) at Patna airport, told this newspaper on Monday that only one flight had been added to the summer schedule. “All four flights of Jet Airways will remain suspended for a month due to operational reasons. Only the Allahabad-Patna-Allahabad flight is operational thrice a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.”
Meanwhile, SpiceJet’s new Chennai-Patna-Chennai flight (SG-736), which was launched as part of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme on March 31, has garnered good response from flyers.
