Night operations will encourage global connections

Mohali: The round-the-clock flight operations and the installation of CATILS-III will truly make Chandigarh international. The night operations will encourage foreign flight operators to connect directly with Chandigarh International Airport.

From April 10, Airports Authority of India will introduce 24x7 operations and CAT-ILS-III to Chandigarh International Airport.

This will open avenues for flight operators to opt for connecting Chandigarh with the USA, Europe, Canada, Australia, China and Korea, enabling operations of wide-bodied aircraft at Chandigarh. The runway length has also been increased keeping in view such aircraft.

Suneel Dutt, CEO, Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL), said that the upgraded runway, 24x7 operations and CAT-ILS-III installation at Chandigarh International Airport will be a gift for the region, as it will facilitate wide-bodied aircraft and will help the passengers of five surrounding states. He also expressed faith that the open sky policies of the Government of India will attract several flagship airlines operators to Chandigarh.
