No footage of Areeb Majeed's arrival, airport tells Bombay HC

Mumbai: An official from Mumbai airport's international terminal told the special NIA court on Friday that the CCTV footage sought by terror-accused Areeb Majeed of his arrival into the country doesn't exist. The official said CCTV footage at the airport is kept only for a month, after which it is overwritten.

Areeb wanted footage of November 28, 2014 (the day he claims he returned) for the period 5am to 7.30am. Last week, the Bombay high court said Majeed was entitled to call data records of cellphone numbers of NIA officers if they are produced as witnesses during his trial. Majeed moved HC after the trial court rejected his plea. He told HC he was brought back to India with all necessary help by NIA officers in consultation with his father, and those officers were present at the time of his arrival at Mumbai airport.
