Flights to Bengaluru diverted to RGIA

Hyderabad: Passengers travelling in three different flights underwent tense moments for a while after their flights were diverted to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad early on Wednesday due to inclement weather and absence of instrument landing system at Bengaluru runway.

Flyers later heaved a sigh of relief when their flights took off from RGIA following clearance from the Air Traffic Control (ATC).
A Malaysian airlines flight from Kaula Lumpur to Bengaluru and another flight from New Delhi to Bengaluru were diverted to RGIA because of bad weather conditions due to cyclone Fani, sources said. Later, both the flights departed for Bengaluru.
