Mumbai Airport offers pre-order food service to passengers

In a new initiative, you can now pre-order food when flying in and out of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). They can also opt for delivery as well as self-pick service for the same. The service has been named ‘Order Ahead’ and is the first of its kind service in the country. The interested passengers need to download an app, and then scan the QR code that will be made available at Terminal 1 and 2 of the Mumbai airport.

The move has been made following the study findings that suggest that more than 90% of the frequent flyers at the airport skip meals. Flight timings and tight schedules are the major reason for the same. Thus, for the convenience and delight of the travellers at the Mumbai airport, the facility has been put in place. The ordered food will be available directly at the boarding gates for those opting for delivery service.
As per a spokesperson, “The technology allows stores to receive the order through Just in Time Order, a patented algorithm, which pushes the order to the store ensuring passengers get their food hot and fresh, irrespective of the time when the order was placed.” The said technology would also enable passengers to see and order from all the food stores on their way from security checks to the boarding gate.
