Tender for Digi Yatra boarding system at CIAL

Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) in India has issued a tender for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a Digi Yatra eBoarding system. The tender was issued May 14, 2019 and closes May 30, 2019.

The Digi Yatra initiative will enable air travel passengers in India to board flights using facial recognition instead of physical documents.

The tender notes, among other details, that bidders should have successfully commissioned a biometrics-based passenger processing system in at least one airport and that they have a local office in India.

Digi Yatra was initially expected to go live in April, and is expected to reach half a dozen airports in the initial roll-out. Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru will be the first airport to implement the Digi Yatra system.
