Travelling from Mumbai airport? Know these latest changes

Mumbai airport is among busiest airports in the country having two terminal points for flights to take off and landing purposes. The terminal 1 is exclusively kept for budget airlines like GoAir, IndiGo, SpiceJet and TrueJet. It has 11 terminal boarding bridges. The handling capacity is 10 million passengers per year. On the other hand, terminal 2 is extensively used for international flights and some selective domestic flights. The airport has an area of 210,000 sq. meters. It has 192 check-in counters and 60 immigration counters at departure, and 14 baggage carousels and 76 immigration counters at arrival. It has seen lots of changes so far. The reason for these changes in the Mumbai Airport T2 is the slots which were held by Jet Airways have been temporarily re-distributed among other airlines. With an extra slot in hands, the carriers such as IndiGo, Air Asia, GoAir and SpiceJet got the chance to expand the network. 
If you are travelling in terminal 2 then you should know that from 15 April 2019 onwards IndiGo will carry additional flights from Mumbai Terminal 2 to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Nagpur, Patna, Vadodara, Varanasi and Kochi.
Apart from IndiGo, AirAsia has also announced today its network expansion plans by starting 10 new connections from Mumbai terminal 2. AirAsia India will now connect Mumbai to Kochi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Indore, New Delhi and Bengaluru from Mumbai terminal 2 Airport. Flights to the new routes have commenced from today.
Budget carrier GoAir announced that they will launch 28 additional flights to their network from which eight services will be from Mumbai Terminal 2. This services commenced from April 26, flight numbers starting from G82000 to G82999 will depart and arrive at Terminal 2 of the Mumbai airport.
SpiceJet is looking at the possibility to induct up to 40 Jet Airways aircraft to expand significantly from Mumbai and Delhi. As SpiceJet is inducting more aircraft, they have announced some more new routes out of Mumbai Terminal 2. Here is the list of SpiceJet new flights that will operate from terminal 2.
