Pune: Fourteen passengers missed a Delhi-bound GoAir flight on Monday because of heavy traffic congestion near the airport.
Punt Dhaneja, his wife and child were three among them. Dhaneja said, “We had to board the flight (G8 174) scheduled to depart at 11.30am and left from Baner way in advance. But there was heavy traffic jam all the way. Our car got stuck at the Weikfield Chowk. The roundabout was clogged and there were no traffic police in sight.”
Dhaneja got out of the car and requested a two-wheeler driver to drop him to the airport, while his wife and child remained in the car. “I pleaded with the airline officials to consider our case and my family reached the airport around 10.58am. But the airline refused to let us board the aircraft.”
