Visakhapatnam: After Jet Airways withdrew its Visakhapatnam to Mumbai flight a month ago, Air India on Wednesday stepped in to continue the services.
From Monday to Friday, Air India flight AI652 will depart from Mumbai at 7 pm and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 8.50 pm. Flight number AI653 will depart from Visakhapatnam at 9.30 pm and land in Mumbai at 11.20 pm. On weekends, Air India flight AI652 will leave Mumbai at 9.10 pm and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 11 pm. Flight number AI653 will depart from Visakhapatnam at 11.30 pm and reach Mumbai at 1.20 am.
Speaking to TOI, O Naresh Kumar from Andhra Pradesh Air Travelers Association, said, “Facilitating the start of new flights to Mumbai was the need of the hour, keeping in view the few flights connecting Visakhapatnam and Mumbai. The latter is the financial capital of the country and we hope it will facilitate trade and commerce between the two cities.”
