New Delhi: Nidhi Chaphekar is once again the face of now-grounded Jet Airways. The senior cabin crew's dazed pictures -- after being injured in a terror attack at Brussels Airport in March 2016 had virtually become the face of that attack.
On Monday, Chaphekar was part of a delegation that met new Union aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri here in a bid to revive the airline that has been grounded since April 17. While her amazing bravery impressed the minister, he found another connect with her -- she too hails from Punjab and is married to a Maharshtrian like him.
After this meeting, Puri tweeted pictures of Chaphekar and him. "I wish I had met her in better circumstances, but in the @jetairways delegation which met me was the very brave air hostess & survivor of the 2016 Brussels terror attack, Ms. Nidhi Chapekhar. Hailing from Guru Nagri she like me is a Punjabi married to a Maharashtrian!" Puri tweeted.
Chaphekar also replied in a tweet saying: “Thank you Dear Hardeep Singh jee for giving so much of respect and gratitude. It was my pleasure meeting you today, a man from holy city. I really feel and hope that we will soon be in better circumstance after talking to you.”
