Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan appealed to the Union government against the Air India’s move to cancel Dubai-Kochi Air India B787 Dreamliner service. In a letter to Union civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Vijayan said a large number of Malayalis working in the Gulf would be left in the lurch if the Air India (AI) withdraws the service at this juncture.
“Malayalis mostly prefer AI for their journey from the Gulf. They heavily depended on the Dreamline Service. The move to withdraw the service at present when the passenger traffic is very high, owing to school vacation in Gulf countries, is a bolt in the blue. Hence, steps should be taken to reverse the decision,” Vijayan said in his letter.
