Air India set to increase flights to Dubai

India’s national carrier Air India plans to increase its operations to Dubai with four more direct flights to the emirate from destinations in southern part of the country.
Air India will launch its new flights from Hyderabad, Kozhikode (Calicut), Kochi and the newly opened Kannur. These services will be in addition to the airline’s existing flights to Dubai from these cities, except for Kannur.
The new Dubai flights will launch as part of Air India's winter schedule, commencing from October, a senior executive with the airline told Arabian Business.
“Some of our aircraft are grounded with various maintenance related issues currently and we are in the process of preparing them for re-induction into the fleet before the winter schedule starts. We plan to launch the new flights to Dubai once these aircraft are ready for operation,” the senior Air India official said.
Air India was recently allotted a major chunk of seat capacities to Dubai, and other international destinations, from the quota of the grounded Indian carrier Jet Airways.
