Patna: Rain and bad weather in the state capital on Monday partially affected the flight operations at the city airport.
Santosh Kumar, assistant general manager (air traffic management) at Patna airport told this newspaper that no flights were cancelled or delayed due to rainfall. “Some flights coming from Mumbai reached late due to bad weather there. However, they took off after half an hour interval,” he said.
Santosh’s claim apart, there was chaotic situation at the airport in morning hours when rainwater started seeping through the ceiling of the terminal building. Several passengers travelling to Mumbai on Monday complained that the SpiceJet officials did not inform them about the flight delay.
Ekant Toshniwal, who was angry over the delay of his flight without prior information, tweeted: “No one from spicejet is available at Patna airport after security check in area!! (sic).”
