'CBI officer' promises AI job, takes off with 6.7 lakh

Pune: A woman (37) was duped of Rs6.70 lakh in a bid to secure a job for her brother between March and June.
The woman came in contact with a man through a matrimonial website in March. "The man introduced himself as a CBI officer and said he lived in Mumbai," sub-inspector Navnath Kudale of the Dehu Road police said.
The man was visiting the woman in Pune, when he found out that her brother had recently lost his job. "The man claimed that he could secure a job for her brother with Air India. But said she would have to pay," Kudale said.
The man took the money in cash and cheques. When he stopped responding to her calls, she lodged a complaint.
