Kannur: Customs sleuths on Wednesday seized 2.809 kg of gold biscuits valued about Rs 98 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Doha in an Air India flight.
Customs officials led by Assistant Commissioner O Pradeep seized the gold and arrested the passenger M V Shabeeb (28) of Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode district, who arrived here in the
morning.
The seized gold was kept hidden inside a suitcase, customs sources said.
