Indigo, SpiceJet, Vistara warn about flight delays at Mumbai airport

After a few days of relative calm, the monsoon has once again hit Mumbai with renewed vigour. In fact, in just three hours early Monday, the city saw very heavy rains to the tune of 108mm. This, once again slowed down Mumbai to a crawl in most aspects of daily life, with rail, air and road traffic being affected. This forced air carriers SpiceJet, Indigo and Vistara to warn their customers about flight delays, which is likely to continue through the day. What is more, it is being forecast that the rain is going to be very heavy for the entire month of July. In such a situation it is always advisable for passengers to check their flight status before travelling especially during heavy spells of rain.

On Monday, Vistara said, “#TravelUpdate : Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, flights to/from Mumbai may be impacted throughout the day.”
For checking Indigo’s flight status, one can visit  http://www.goindigo.in    or send an SMS ST <flight no.><flight date> as DDMM, e.g. for flight 6E-333 for Jul 08, send ST 333 0807 to 566772.

Also, SpiceJet said, “#WeatherUpdate Due to bad weather at Kishangarh (KQH), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected. The passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via.”

Skymet in today’s forecast for Mumbai weather said, “The city of Mumbai which has seen a very rainy morning continues to lash the city even during the day. Moreover, there have been several areas which remain waterlogged and other parts which remain snarled with traffic conditions.”
