Lucknow: Another direct flight to Jeddah from October

Lucknow: Passengers for Saudi Arabia will have one more direct flight option from the city, thanks to Air India's plans to fly non-stop to Jeddah from October.

Currently, Saudi Arabian Airlines operates the only direct flight from Lucknow with a seating capacity of around 280 passengers. The journey to the port city in Saudi Arabia is covered in around six hours. Hopping flights can cost a passenger at least six hours more.

Air India has a Jeddah flight via New Delhi, which takes around 12 hours. The new direct flight will slash travel time by six hours. The expected departure time from Lucknow is 2am.

Spokesperson for Air India Dhananjay Kumar told TOI that a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft would be deployed on the Lucknow-Jeddah route in October.
There are 238 seats in the economy class and 18 in business class. The aircraft has unique features for passenger comfort such as dimming windows, soft LED lightning and easily accessible stowage bin.
