India's SpiceJet to offer discounted $75 Dubai fares

Indian budget carrier SpiceJet will offer one-way ticket to Dubai from Mumbai for $75 (Rs5,399) as part of a limited period promotional offer on select international routes.
The five-day sale, launched on Monday, will be open until Friday midnight, the airline said in a statement.
The travel period covered in this sale is till March 31, 2020 and is valid only for travel on non-stop international flights on SpiceJet's network.
Some of the other sectors on which the discounted-fare tickets are offered include Kochi-Male ($60 for one-way), Bangkok-Kolkata ($65), Mumbai-Bangkok ($96) and Bangkok-Delhi ($100).
“International holidays, especially during peak season, are perceived to be an expensive affair for Indian households. We aim to break this notion and offer ticket prices for international holiday destinations like Dubai, Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka and Male at rates which are close to domestic ticket prices,” Debojo Maharshi, chief marketing officer of SpiceJet, has said.
The airline expects the sale, christened ‘red hot’ international sale, to help travellers looking for international getaways for a festive holiday break, he added.
