Jerusalem: The first direct flights between Israel and India’s coastal cities of Kochi and Goa will start in September, announced Tuesday by the Israeli airline Arkia.
In 2018, there was a year-on-year 98-percent jump in the number of direct-flight passengers from Israel to India.
The direct flights will be operated between Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport and the two cities, with one flight per week to Goa and two to Kochi, respectively.
The duration of the flights will be about 7 hours in each direction, and operated through the aircraft Airbus A321neo LR.
Israel’s leading airline El Al has operated the only direct flights from Israel to India.
