Operations resume at Vadodara airport

Vadodara: The Vadodara airport started normal operations on Thursday evening after remaining dysfunctional for around 24 hours since Wednesday due to heavy waterlogging.
An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter was the first to land at 4.30 pm on Thursday. This was followed by another IAF helicopter and two flights carrying passengers from Delhi - one of Air India and another IndiGo. An IAF aircraft C-130 J Hercules also landed at night with NDRF teams from Pune.
The boundary wall of the aiport had also collapsed.
“We took help from Vadodara Municipal Corporation to drain out rainwater that had entered the airport premises,” said Vadodara airport director Charan Singh.
