Personal tragedy delays Turbo Aviation’s launch of Bareilly-Lucknow flight

Bareilly: Three months after aviation firm Turbo Aviation won the contract to operate flights between Bareilly and Lucknow, it is yet to announce the date of commencement of services. Company officials who could be contacted appeared clueless about plans to buy commercial aircraft for the purpose. A senior official said they are currently in process to acquire an aircraft from Malaysia.
Head of operations, administration and human resources of Turbo Aviation, P V Ravi Shankar, said, “I’d gone to Kuala Lumpur two weeks ago to take possession of the aircraft we’ve bought, but due to unforeseen reasons, I had to rush back to India.” The company will operate under the brand name Trustar.
Ravi Shankar’s father had to be admitted in ICU after he suffered a sudden brain haemorrhage, and has been in coma since then. Ravi Shankar has been attending to his ailing father. “For the past two weeks, I’ve been beside my father at a hospital in Vishakhapatnam. I’m receiving phone calls from the Aviation ministry and other officials associated with the project. We hope we’ll be getting possession of the aircraft very soon, and will be able to start operations,” he said.
Bareilly airport director S K Singh said they had no information from the UP civil aviation department or Union aviation ministry about dates from which flights from Bareilly would start.
