Plots in 2 more villages handed over to YEIDA for Jewar airport

Greater Noida: The state government on Wednesday took possession of the fourth and fifth tranches of land in two villages of Greater Noida for the Jewar international airport project.
Jewar deputy collector Abhay Kumar Singh said the district administration acquired 225 hectares in Rohi village and 4.5 hectares in Banwariwas village.

“We have handed over the land to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), which is piloting the project,” he said.

With this, the physical possession of land with YEIDA now stands at 433 hectares. The final land parcel of 125 hectares, officials said, will be acquired from the farmers of Dayanatpur village on August 23.

In the first phase, over 1,300 hectares of land is needed to build the NCR’s second international airport.

So far, the administration has disbursed Rs 1,920 crore for land in Ranhera, Parohi, Kishorepur, Rohi, Banwariwas and Dayantpur.
