Smoke in cockpit, IndiGo flight makes safe emergency landing at Hyderabad

New Delhi: An IndiGo flight made a safe emergency landing in Hyderabad on Tuesday after smoke in the cockpit. The airline spokesperson said: “In relation to our flight 6E-6679 (operated on an Airbus A320-Neo) from Delhi to Hyderabad, the pilots perceived signs of smoke in the cockpit during decent and as a measure of caution, declared emergency to expedite landing.”
“After landing, an inspection was carried out by our engineering team who confirmed that all engine functionalities and parameters were fine. The root cause of this issue has been identified as the malfunctioning of an air conditioning system’s exhaust fan. The component will be replaced and the aircraft will be back in operation shortly,” she added.
