Flying from Mumbai? Know these flight operation changes

New Delhi: Budget carrier SpiceJet will shift its entire Mumbai operations to Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport from September 22, 2019. The transition is being planned and implemented by the airline with the support of Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL). It is to be noted that it is 20 minutes’ drive from T1 to T2.

The airline said in a tweet, "Effective 22 September 2019 the entire airline operation of SpiceJet will shift to Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport." The transition is being done to enhance passenger convenience and improve the connectivity of international and domestic passengers, the carrier said in a statement.

The consolidation of operations will help SpiceJet service thousands of passengers travelling to and from Mumbai Airport across its domestic, as well as, international networks. According to the airline's official website, the entire flight operations of SpiceJet will be shifted to Terminal 2 (T2).

The website also mentioned that SpiceJet has sent emails, SMS notifications, social media updates well in advance informing passengers of this move. However, in case, there are customers who are still not aware of this move, SpiceJet has made special arrangements for passengers to be dropped at T2.

Currently, there are two of conveyance available to reach Terminal 2 from Terminal 1: taxi or private car or auto-rickshaw from T1 auto stand to T2 auto on the ground level.

The airline also mentioned that as long as the passengers reach SpiceJet’s airport counters 45 minutes prior to the time of departure of their flight, the airline will make every effort to connect them to their flight. However, if the passengers are not able to make it on time, SpiceJet will reschedule their flight without any additional charges for travel dates up to 7 days or refund their ticket in full.
